The US-70/Roosevelt Bridge and causeway continue to narrow to one lane between State Park Rd. and Willow Springs Rd., over Lake Texoma from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily for emergency repairs to the causeway. Pilot cars will be in place to guide traffic through the work zone at speeds no higher than 35 mph. Delay times are significant. Updates will be sent as the project progresses through July.
As a reminder, repairs are being made to the causeway, not to the bridge. The bridge was not damaged.
All open lane widths are narrow, traffic is shifted away from damage to the causeway and the bridge remains safe. Drivers need to slow down, set aside distractions and watch for large trucks entering and exiting the highway. Oversized loads remain restricted. Drivers can use US-70 to SH-199 to SH-78 as a detour or locate an alternate route.
This emergency repair, 60-day contract was awarded to Bridgeco Contractors at the June 2 commission meeting for nearly $5.5 million. The Roosevelt bridge replacement is anticipated for 2026.
