The more than $18 million project will resurface the shoulders along north and southbound I-35 between Memorial Rd. and US-77/2nd St. and add protected turnarounds at 33rd St., 15th St. and 2nd St. This project will also be the first phase of the one-way frontage road conversion and work is expected to be completed in Summer 2025, weather permitting.
During the first phase of this project crews will improve the shoulders along north and southbound I-35 to allow traffic to be shifted and help minimize later impacts to drivers. Traffic shifts are expected to begin in early October and be in place through the end of the project in Summer 2025, weather permitting.
The more than $18 million project was awarded to Manhattan Road & Bridge Company by the Transportation Commission in Sept. 2024.
