*Updated* I-35 lanes shift near Wayne, between Paoli and Pauls Valley beginning Wednesday, Oct. 27
***Updated***
This project is weather permitting:
Drivers can expect significant lane shifts and new traffic patterns on I-35 at SH-59 (mm 86) near Wayne in McClain County and from three miles south of SH-145 near Paoli (mm 76) to Airline Rd. (mm 70) in Pauls Valley in Garvin County beginning Wednesday, Oct. 27 for the next phase of ongoing pavement rehabilitation and reconstruction. I-35 will remain narrowed to one lane in each direction as all traffic is shifted to one side of the interstate with a concrete barrier separating north and southbound lanes. This traffic switch will allow the contractor to begin removal and replacement of the pavement on the opposite side of the highway.
I-35 remains narrowed to one lane in each direction in these work zones through early 2022. Motorists can expect congestion and very lengthy delays between Purcell and Wynnewood, especially during peak travel times like weekends and holidays, or should consider using an alternate route, such as US-81 to the west or US-69/75 to the east, to avoid the corridor.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead by checking current traffic conditions on the free Drive Oklahoma mobile app or by visiting https://www.oktraffic.org.
