Description

Oklahoma Transportation (ODOT), in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), is proposing roadway and bridge improvements on SH-9 from the Pecan Creek bridge east 5.5 miles to SH-102 intersection. The purpose and need for this project is to improve both safety and traffic flow along this segment of SH-9. The existing SH-9 highway is a two-lane facility with 8 foot wide shoulders and has higher than average commuter traffic. The current (2019) traffic on the segment west of SH-9/ SH-102 intersection is 5,130 vehicles per day (vpd) with a 2039 projected traffic of 7,180 vpd. These next phases of planned improvements to SH-9 are a continuation of an ODOT commitment to improve this heavily used route.
