STATE SAFETY OVERSIGHT (SSO)

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA), in§ 49CFRPart 674, requires each state with a Rail Fixed GuidewayPublic Transportation System (RFGPTS) to have a federally certifiedState Safety Oversight Program. In October, 2018, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation's Office of Mobility & Public Transit received FTAcertification and has safety and security oversight authority for all RFGPTS in Oklahoma.
