David Yarbrough
David Yarbrough joined the Port Authority staff in 2006 and was promoted to Port Director on Feb. 1, 2017. In 2019, with a talented and motivated staff team, David led in the creation of “Tulsa Ports”, a rebranding of the organization formerly doing business as the “Tulsa Port of Catoosa.” Today, David is leading Tulsa Ports in a new era of multi-site economic development, expanded transportation options, and workforce development. Now in its 51st year, Tulsa Ports includes the capabilities of the established, 2,000-acre Tulsa Port of Catoosa, and the Tulsa Port of Inola, a 2,200-acre master-planned port / industrial park. On the National level, David is a strong promoter of the value of the navigable waterways of the US, including the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River System. He has been to Washington DC for waterway advocacy 21 times (and counting) and is a Board member and past Chair of the National Waterways Conference, a leading organization promoting and protecting the public benefits of the nation’s water resources infrastructure. David is a graduate of Oklahoma State University and a licensed Professional Engineer.
