ODOT and OTA offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 1, 2024, for New Year's Day.

 

Oklahoma Transportation

The projects below are weather permitting:

 

I-44 narrows to one lane, ramps close at I-44 and US-169 Friday night

Westbound I-44 will be narrowed to one lane at US-169 (mm 234A) and the north and southbound US-169 ramps to westbound I-44 will be closed from 7 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday for sign installation.

Lanes closed at I-44 and US-169 interchange through late 2023

Motorists should be aware of lane and ramp closures at the interchange of I-44 and US-169 through late 2023 for an interchange improvement project. Impacts include:

  • East and westbound I-44 both narrow to two lanes at US-169 (mm 234A) until further notice.
  • The speed limit is reduced to 55 MPH on both I-44 and US-169.

Drivers are urged to use extra caution throughout the work zone and expect delays, especially during peak travel times.

 

Street widening on 33rd W. Ave. at I-44 begins Wednesday through summer 2024

A street widening project begins Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024 on 33rd W. Ave. at I-44. This project will widen 33rd W. Ave. to 5 lanes under the interstate and repave the westbound I-44 on- and off-ramps. Work should be completed in summer 2024.

 

Oklahoma Turnpike Authority

The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority projects below are weather permitting:

 

Muskogee Turnpike narrows through early 2024

SH-351/Muskogee Turnpike will have intermittent lane closures around toll plazas through early 2024 as part of conversion to cashless tolling.

 

Ongoing Highway Construction Projects

 

Lanes closed at I-44 and US-169 interchange through late 2023

Motorists should be aware of lane and ramp closures at the interchange of I-44 and US-169 through late 2023 for an interchange improvement project. Impacts include:

  • East and westbound I-44 both narrow to two lanes at US-169 (mm 234A) until further notice.

Bridge replacement project continues at I-244 and US-169 through spring 2024

A bridge replacement project at the northbound US-169 ramp to westbound I-244/US-412 will replace the ramp on a new alignment adjacent to the current ramp. Work is expected to be completed in spring 2024, weather permitting. Related work will also include joint sealing and repair on the I-244/US-412 bridges over Mingo Creek, just west of the interchange. Current closures include:

  • The northbound US-169 ramp to westbound I-244/US-412 is narrowed to one lane through March 2024.

 

I-244 on-ramp from 1st St. (W leg IDL) closed through 2023

The eastbound I-244 on-ramp from 1st St. (west leg of the Inner Dispersal Loop) is closed through 2023 for a bridge rehabilitation project.

 

US-412 narrows at 25th W. Ave./Gilcrease Museum Rd. through spring 2024

East and westbound US-412/US-64/SH-51 will be narrowed to two lanes at 25th W. Ave./Gilcrease Museum Rd. through spring 2024 for a bridge repair project. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in both directions during peak hours.

 

Bridge project continues on US-169 at 76th St. N. in Owasso through fall 2023

Drivers can expect reduced speed limits and various lane closures on northbound and southbound US-169 at 76th St. N. in Owasso through fall 2023 for a bridge replacement project. Two lanes of traffic in each direction on US-169 will be maintained during daytime hours; however, some overnight and weekend closures may reduce the highway to one lane in each direction for traffic safety purposes. Additionally, some lane closures on 76th St. N. under the bridge can be expected as part of the project.

 

Memorial Dr. narrows at US-169 in South Tulsa through spring 2024

North and southbound Memorial Dr. are narrowed to two lanes in each direction at the US-169 and SH-364/Creek Turnpike interchange for an intersection improvement project through spring 2024. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained on northbound and southbound Memorial Dr. between 93rd St. and 97th St. throughout the majority of the project. No ramp closures are expected for either US-169 or SH-364/Creek Turnpike during construction.

Drivers are urged to give full attention to the road throughout construction and be aware of shifting lanes and new traffic configurations as work progresses.

 

SH-97 pavement rehabilitation continues in Sand Springs through spring 2025

A pavement reconstruction on SH-97 from S. Main St. to W. 2nd St. in Sand Springs continues through spring 2025. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in both directions during peak hours.

 

SH-51 narrows at Muskogee Turnpike in BA through early 2024

Westbound SH-51 is narrowed to two lanes at the junction with SH-351/Muskogee Turnpike in Broken Arrow through early 2024 for bridge replacement as part of a City of Broken Arrow street widening project. The lane closure begins on the Muskogee Turnpike near the junction. Lanes will also be shifted on eastbound SH-51 through the work zone.

 

US-412 narrows to one lane over Verdigris River through 2023

Eastbound and westbound US-412 narrow to one lane each direction at the Verdigris River in Rogers County through late 2023 for a bridge replacement project.
