US-70 narrowed between Lone Grove and Wilson through spring 2023

Friday, June 17, 2022

This project is weather permitting:

US-70 is narrowed to one lane in each direction between Lone Grove and Wilson, west of Ardmore, in Carter County through spring 2023 for two pavement improvement projects. Drivers can expect significant delays and should plan extra travel time in the area. Motorists should also be alert to narrow lane widths, lane shifts and reduced speed limits in the work zone.

The larger $18 million project includes reconstruction of the eastbound lanes of US-70 and resurfacing of the newer westbound lanes from just west of Newport Rd. in Lone Grove to Keller Rd. near Wilson., along with reconstruction of a small bridge structure. A separate $1 million project by the same contractor will resurface all lanes of US-70 between Wilson and Keller Rd.

The Oklahoma Transportation Commission awarded the contracts for these two projects to Overland Corp., of Ardmore.
