US-69 frontage road ramp south of Comanche Ave. in McAlester closes Wednesday

The southbound US-69 off-ramp to the west frontage road, south of Comanche Ave., will be permanently closed at 9 a.m. Wednesday for construction of the left lane of the west frontage road as part of the on-going US-69 reconstruction project. Drivers will need to use the Comanche Ave/Peaceable Rd. exit.

The final phase of US-69 reconstruction in McAlester was awarded at the Oct. 5, 2020 Oklahoma Transportation Commission meeting to Allen Contracting for $32 million. It is estimated to be completed by fall 2022.
