US-69/75 traffic shifts to frontage roads south of US-70 in Durant on Thursday

Wednesday, August 11, 2021

North and southbound US-69/75 will have intermittent rolling roadblocks as northbound traffic shifts onto the US-69/75 east frontage road near 9th St. and southbound US-69/75 traffic shifts to the US-69/75 west frontage road near the US-70 Bypass between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. Thursday. Traffic will be routed onto the frontage roads through Spring 2022 while mainline lanes are reconstructed in the next phase of this project. The highway will remain two lanes during this construction. Drivers should plan for delays or locate an alternate route.

The US-69/75 center crossing at Choctaw Rd. will also be closed beginning at 7 a.m. Monday through September for reconstruction. US-69/75 motorists turning left onto Choctaw Rd. will need to find an alternate route during this closure.

The ongoing construction project on US-69/75 between US-70 in Durant south to Chickasaw Rd. in Calera was awarded to Duit Construction in August 2019 for more than $150 million. Estimated completion is 2023.
