At its Dec. 4 meeting, the Oklahoma Transportation Commission awarded a contract on two projects near Tahlequah. The first project on SH-82 will relocate a portion of the highway on the northeast side of Tahlequah. The second project will resurface and add shoulders to seven miles of SH-51 between Tahlequah and Hulbert. The combined contract was awarded to Robinson Construction LLC of Poteau for approximately $49 million. Construction should begin in late spring 2024 and will take about 18 months to complete.
