December Transportation Commission meeting scheduled for Monday, Dec. 4

The Oklahoma Transportation Commission’s mon­thly meeting is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 4, in the R.A. Ward Transportation Building, 200 N.E. 21st St., Oklahoma City. Members of the public and media are invited to attend or watch the livestream video online.

Items to be addressed at the meeting:

·         Secretary of Transportation Tim Gatz will present for approval the use of $13.7 million in Bridge Formula Program funding to apply toward the Scour Mitigation Program which will address 428 structurally deficient off-system bridges statewide.

·         Commissioners will be updated on the status of the federal funding Continuing Resolution.

·         The Association of Oklahoma General Contractors will present ODOT with an industry award for quality bridge construction in Oklahoma City.

·         The commission will vote on whether to award several contracts, among them an estimated $40 million resurfacing project on SH-152 between Union City and Mustang and a $57 million resurfacing and roundabout installation on SH-82 on the northeast side of Tahlequah.

The commission, a nine-member panel appointed by the governor and legislative leaders to oversee the state’s transportation development, awards project contracts for road and bridge construction on a monthly basis.
