August Transportation Commission meeting scheduled for Monday, August 7

The Oklahoma Transportation Commission’s mon­thly meeting is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, August 7, in the R.A. Ward Transportation Building, 200 N.E. 21st St., Oklahoma City. Members of the public and media are invited to attend or watch the livestream video online.

Items to be addressed at the meeting:


·         Secretary of Transportation and Oklahoma Department of Transportation Executive Director Tim Gatz will update and seek approval from commissioners on the newly completed County Improvements of Roads & Bridges 5 Year County Work Plan.

·         Discussion of the $350,000 emergency repairs to the northbound US-75 bridge over Polecat Creek in Tulsa County where cracks were discovered during routine inspection in mid-July.

·         Commissioners will consider awarding an up to $105 million project to realign the I-35 and SH-9W interchange south of Norman creating a Diverging Diamond Interchange.

·         The commission will vote on whether to award several contracts, among them an estimated $42 million project to reconstruct and add shoulders to 8 miles of SH-19 in Grady County and an estimated $2.7 million, pavement rehabilitation project on 3 miles of US-75 near Okmulgee.

The commission, a nine-member panel appointed by the governor and legislative leaders to oversee the state’s transportation development, awards project contracts for road and bridge construction on a monthly basis.
