ODOT seeks virtual public comments for SH-74 at I-35 Goldsby project

Monday, October 10, 2022

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is offering a virtual open house to present information on a future project to replace the SH-74 bridge at I-35 in Goldsby in McClain Co. The proposed project accommodates future plans to widen I-35 to a six-lane facility and brings the interchange to modern standards. Comments are due online by Oct. 31.

ODOT tasked a design consultant to develop and analyze alternative options for the new bridge design while considering construction, right-of-way and utility costs as well as environmental constraints. The public is asked to provide feedback on five design alternatives and two ramp options.

In the online open house under the menu tab Proposed Alternatives, viewers will find short videos detailing the design options, which include the bridge over I-35, a new intersection at the SH-74/I-35 southbound ramps and west frontage road and a new intersection at SH-74 and Airport Rd. Other options include realigning Airport Rd., modifying the existing roundabout and possibly adding a second roundabout. Comment also will be considered for possibly redesigning ramps at I-35 and N. Adkins Hill Rd. to move them just north to Burr Oak Rd. For a comparison of all the options, look under the Matrix menu tab.
