Description
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT), in partnership with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), plans to improve the intersection of US-81 and SH-37/SH-152 in Grady County, Oklahoma.
Currently, traffic traveling north and south moves freely with one lane in each direction. Traffic traveling east and west on SH-37 must stop before turning left and use a ramp with a yield sign when turning right.
The proposed design will replace the existing intersection with a four-leg, single-lane roundabout. The plan also includes a dedicated left-turn lane for northbound traffic and access for a driveway on the east side of the intersection.
Most of the improvements will be built within the existing roadway alignment. However, some permanent and temporary right-of-way will be required. Construction will occur in phases to allow traffic to continue moving throughout the project.
The purpose of this project is to improve traffic operations and increase safety at the intersection. Please review the information on this page for additional details.
