ODOT names new Director of Administration

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation has announced Tara Cullum as the new Director of Administration. In this newly-created role, Cullum will oversee the divisions of Human Resources, Information Technology/GIS, Innovation/Research and Government and Community Affairs.

Cullum has served as Deputy Chief Innovation Officer since 2022 where she spearheaded high-impact initiatives department-wide and led a cross-functional innovation team that piloted and implemented change management and data governance. Her career at ODOT began in 2013 as a Transportation Coordinator then Coordinator of Executive Administration in 2017.

As Deputy Chief Innovation Officer, she played a pivotal role in several key projects including Cabinet Modernization, the First Lady Sarah Stitt’s Science of Hope initiative and serving as ODOT’s representative to the Oklahoma Division of Government Efficiency. Cullum held other state agency positions at the Oklahoma Public Employes Retirement System and the Department of Human Services.

Cullum is currently Chair of the Southern Plains Transportation Center, Co-chair of the Oklahoma State Transportation Innovation Council and serves as member on multiple American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials committees. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Oklahoma State University.

Tara Cullum has been chosen as Oklahoma Department of Transportation Director of Administration.
