The Oklahoma Transportation Commission’s monthly meeting is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, May 4 in the R.A. Ward Transportation Building, 200 N.E. 21st St., Oklahoma City. Members of the public and media are invited to attend or watch the livestream.
Items to be addressed at the meeting:
- The Oklahoma Transportation Commissioners will receive an update on the tornado debris clean-up efforts in Enid in north-central Oklahoma.
- Transportation Secretary and Oklahoma Department of Transportation Executive Director Tim Gatz will recap for commissioners the Route 66 / Turner Turnpike project and public art dedication in Wellston, augmenting the Mother Road Centennial celebrations.
- Gatz will also update commissioners on a recent Community Open House that was held in Madill to meet the teams who will be responsible for the upcoming US-70 Roosevelt Bridge replacement.
- The commission will vote on whether to award several contracts, among them a bridge rehabilitation project on SH-51/Broken Arrow Expressway over 21st in Tulsa which will have a major impact on commuters.

The commission, a nine-member panel appointed by the governor and legislative leaders to oversee the state’s transportation development, awards project contracts for road and bridge construction on a monthly basis.
