Underwood Named New ODOT Enterprise Systems Services Director

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation has announced the appointment of Lance Underwood as the new Enterprise Systems Services Director. Underwood, who previously served as the Third Party Solutions Manager for ODOT's Office of Innovation joined ODOT in 2021 as an Enterprise Analyst, working with both ODOT and the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority.  In 2024, he transitioned to the role of Third Party Solutions Manager before his recent promotion to Enterprise Systems Services Director.

In his tenure at ODOT, Underwood has been instrumental in developing technical and enterprise process solutions for ODOT and OTA business users, successfully managing multiple technical projects. His notable initiatives include overseeing the production pilot of the ODOT Google Cloud Platform data lake and implementing a deployment of an Environmental Programs and GIS application, which significantly enhanced federal reporting speed and efficiency.

In his new role, Underwood will oversee ODOT's business services, content management, technology services, risk management and GIS.

A native of Tahlequah, Underwood holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management Information Systems from Northeastern State University, as well as a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma. He resides in Oklahoma City with his wife, Roberta and their three children.
