December Transportation Commission meeting scheduled for Monday, Dec. 1

The Oklahoma Transportation Commission’s monthly meeting is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 1 in the R.A. Ward Transportation Building, 200 N.E. 21st St., Oklahoma City. Members of the public and media are invited to attend or watch the livestream.

Items to be addressed at the meeting:

  • The Association of Oklahoma General Contractors will present ODOT with an industry award for quality bridge construction in Weatherford.
  • Oklahoma Department of Transportation Executive Director Tim Gatz will brief commissioners on recent agency efficiencies and the status of the continuing resolution.
  • Commissioners will consider approving several major contracts, including work to create new lanes connecting US-81 to US-62/SH-9 in Grady County, and an upcoming project to create a controlled-access interchange on US-75 at Preston Road in Okmulgee County, among others.

The commission, a nine-member panel appointed by the governor and legislative leaders to oversee the state’s transportation development, awards project contracts for road and bridge construction monthly.
