August Transportation Commission meeting scheduled for Monday, Aug. 4

The Oklahoma Transportation Commission’s monthly meeting is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4 in the R.A. Ward Transportation Building, 200 N.E. 21st St., Oklahoma City. Members of the public and media are invited to attend or watch the livestream.

Items to be addressed at the meeting:

  • Oklahoma Department of Transportation Executive Director Tim Gatz will update the Commission on the ODOT’s progress on structurally deficient highway bridges and its recent change in national rank.

  • Commissioners will be briefed on the department's first Snowplow Naming Contest that will open to K-12 students mid-August.

  • The commission will vote on whether to award several contracts, among them projects to improve the I-40/I-40B interchanges in Clinton and US-270B/Kickapoo St. in Shawnee and the next I-35 widening project near Thackerville.

The commission, a nine-member panel appointed by the governor and legislative leaders to oversee the state’s transportation development, awards project contracts for road and bridge construction monthly.
