Virtual open house now available for input on improvements to US-412, US-81 in Garfield County
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is hosting a virtual open house to present proposed improvements along US-412 and US-81 in Enid.
The projects will rehabilitate pavement along US-412 from Garland Rd. to 30th St. and along US-81 from Maine St. to Oak Ave., while also improving drainage, intersections, ADA complaint sidewalks and railroad track crossings.
The virtual public involvement will allow members of the public to share their thoughts about alternatives for improving this area through Enid.
Once all public input is received, ODOT will finalize the design plans. Right-of-way acquisition for the US-412 projects is scheduled to begin in late 2024 with utility relocation taking place in 2024. Construction is tentatively scheduled in the department's Eight-Year Construction Work Plan to begin in 2028 and 2030 at an estimated cost of $17 million.
For the US-81 project, right-of-way acquisition is scheduled to begin in 2026 with utility relocation scheduled for 2027. Construction is tentatively scheduled in the department's Eight-Year Construction Work Plan to begin in 2031 at an estimated cost of nearly $7 million.
