November Transportation Commission meeting scheduled for Monday, Nov. 4

The Oklahoma Transportation Commission’s mon­thly meeting is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, in the R.A. Ward Transportation Building, 200 N.E. 21st St., Oklahoma City. Members of the public and media are invited to attend or watch the livestream.

Items to be addressed at the meeting:

  • Oklahoma Department of Transportation Executive Director Tim Gatz and commissioners will welcome newly appointed District 2 Commissioner Eric Stuteville.
  • The Oklahoma Asphalt Pavement Association will present a national award to ODOT.
  • Gatz will update commissioners on the progress of a $74 million bridge replacement on US-62 over the Arkansas River/MKARNS navigation channel in Muskogee.
  • The commission will vote on whether to award several contracts, among them a $30 million project to construct a new railroad bridge over SH-37/4th along with other safety improvements in Moore; a $26 million pavement rehabilitation project on US-270 with interchange improvements at the US-270/Kickapoo Spur interchange in Shawnee; and an $11 million project to add shoulders to US-183 in Buffalo, the second of three improvement projects along the corridor.

The commission, a nine-member panel appointed by the governor and legislative leaders to oversee the state’s transportation development, awards project contracts for road and bridge construction on a monthly basis.
