December Transportation Commission meeting scheduled for Monday, Dec. 4

The Oklahoma Transportation Commission’s mon­thly meeting is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, in the R.A. Ward Transportation Building, 200 N.E. 21st St., Oklahoma City. Members of the public and media are invited to attend or watch the livestream.

Items to be addressed at the meeting:

  • Oklahoma Department of Transportation Executive Director Tim Gatz will update commissioners on position changes within the department.
  • The commission will vote on whether to award several contracts, among them a $18 million project to improve access along SH-152 between I-44 and Meridian Ave., a more than $7 million bridge rehabilitation project on SH-66 near Catoosa; and a $22 million project to enhance safety along US-60/US-412 near Ringwood in Major County.

The commission, a nine-member panel appointed by the governor and legislative leaders to oversee the state’s transportation development, awards project contracts for road and bridge construction on a monthly basis.
