The Oklahoma Transportation Commission’s monthly meeting is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, April 1, in the R.A. Ward Transportation Building, 200 N.E. 21st St., Oklahoma City. Members of the public and media are invited to attend or watch the livestream video online.
Items to be addressed at the meeting:
- Oklahoma Department of Transportation Executive Director Tim Gatz will present commissioners with Gov. Stitt’s proclamation declaring April 15-19 as Oklahoma’s “Work Zone Awareness Week,” events planned and a new public service announcement.
- Gatz will mention ODOT’s efforts to prepare for the upcoming total solar eclipse April 8.
- Gatz will update the commission on the state of Oklahoma bridges in response to the bridge hit in Maryland.
- The commission will vote on whether to award several contracts, among them a bridge construction project on US-75 in Glenpool and a reconstruction and resurfacing project on Gray St. in Norman. An update will be given on the progress of the I-40 interchange redesign and widening in Midwest City.

The commission, a nine-member panel appointed by the governor and legislative leaders to oversee the state’s transportation development, awards project contracts for road and bridge construction on a monthly basis.
