The Heartland Flyer is preparing to take football fans south to Dallas for the annual Red River Rivalry game between the University of Oklahoma and the University of Texas.
Amtrak and the Oklahoma Department of Transportation are offering passengers the chance to relax, socialize and stir up some school spirit onboard with other fans, without the hassle of traffic or parking.
The Big Game Train leaves the Santa Fe Depot in Oklahoma City at 8:25 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 6 and arrives at 2 p.m. at Union Station in downtown Dallas. Fans can join the game train at any of the stops in Norman, Purcell, Pauls Valley, Ardmore, Gainesville, Texas and Fort Worth.
The Heartland Flyer returns Sunday, Oct. 8, leaving Dallas’ Union Station at 2:15 p.m. and arriving in Oklahoma City at 9:27 p.m.
