The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is seeking public input on options to improve US-70 Roosevelt Bridge over Lake Texoma. The meeting will provide the public information about potential improvements to the bridge and the potential impacts to drivers and the surrounding community.
The purpose of the improvements is to provide a safe crossing of US-70 over Lake Texoma that will accommodate existing and future traffic volumes by addressing the structural condition of the bridge, providing a crash-worthy bridge railing, addressing the low clearance at the truss span and providing adequate roadway and shoulder width to accommodate traffic demand. Analysis of future traffic projections indicates a four-lane highway and bridge will be necessary to accommodate future traffic.
