The Oklahoma Transportation Commission will hold its monthly meeting at 11 a.m. Monday, April 2 in the R.A. Ward Transportation Building, 200 N.E. 21st St. in Oklahoma City. Items to be addressed at the meeting include:
- A sea of orange will fill the commission room as attendees wear the color in support of the Oklahoma Department of Transportation's 2018 Work Zone Awareness campaign. Officials, along with ODOT Executive Director Michael Patterson, will kick off the month-long campaign which highlights safety for highway workers and drivers in work zones.
- Patterson will update the commission on the legislation currently being discussed and how it impacts the agency along with plans for a nearly $10 million TIGER (Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery) grant awarded to ODOT for rail infrastructure improvements between Enid and Elk City.
- Commissioners will be asked to consider approval of a $33 million contract for I-35 bridge replacement over the Deep Fork Creek just south of the I-44 interchange in Oklahoma City.
- They will consider approval of a $5 million contract to replace the I-244 bridge over 129th E. Ave. near US-169 in Tulsa county along with an $8.5 million contract in Woodward for surface and bridge replacement on 34th St. from Downs Ave. north to US-412.

The commission, an eight-member panel appointed by the governor to oversee the state’s transportation development, awards project contracts for road and bridge construction on a monthly basis.
