Earp named ODOT Division Seven Engineer

     Longtime Oklahoma Department of Transportation employee Jay Earp was named Division Seven Engineer on January 8. He joined the department in 1998.

     Earp grew up in Pampa, Texas and graduated from Oklahoma State University with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering in 1998, joining ODOT as an Engineer-in-Training later that year.

     In 2004, Earp became the Division Seven Bridge Engineer moving to Division Seven Area Maintenance Engineer in 2006. He was named Ardmore Resident Engineer in 2010 and in 2013 was promoted to Assistant Division Seven Engineer for Construction, a post he held until being named Division Engineer. Earp oversees all construction and maintenance activities in Division Seven which encompasses nine counties in south-central Oklahoma, including Caddo, Carter, Comanche, Cotton, Grady, Jefferson, Love, Murray and Stephens counties.

     Earp has been a registered Professional Engineer since 2003. He is a volunteer firefighter in Elmore City, is active in the church where he attends, enjoys playing golf, working with livestock and attending his children’s livestock shows and other activities.

     He and his wife, Jennifer, who is a school teacher, live in Elmore City. They have a son, Judd, and a daughter, Lauren.

Jay Earp, of Elmore City, was named Oklahoma Department of Transportation Division Seven Engineer in January. He was previously Construction Engineer.
