Taylor Henderson

Taylor Henderson was appointed Assistant Director of Operations at the Oklahoma Department of Transportation in August 2024. In this role, he will oversee the Maintenance, Materials and Construction Divisions, focusing on new technologies and improved processes for greater efficiency. Henderson has been with the department since 1997, most recently serving as state Maintenance Engineer.
He began his career at ODOT in the Oklahoma City Residency and was selected as part of the team for the I-40 Webbers Falls bridge reconstruction, which was necessitated by the historic 2002 barge strike and tragic bridge collapse. He returned to the Oklahoma City Residency and was appointed Assistant Resident Engineer in 2004. In 2006, Henderson was promoted to Crosstown Construction Coordinator managing the significant I-40 Crosstown reconstruction project in downtown Oklahoma City In 2009, he became the Resident Engineer in El Reno and oversaw major projects including the State’s First Single Point Urban Interchange at I-40 and Morgan Rd. In 2011, he was named Maintenance Engineer for District Five which covers 11 counties in Southwestern Oklahoma until his promotion to state Maintenance Engineer in 2018. Throughout his 27-year career, Henderson has achieved notable milestones, including the implementation of ODOT’s Maintenance Quality Assurance program, the establishment of an in-house Commercial Driver’s License program and leading efforts to improve various ODOT-owned facilities for the benefit of employees.
A native of Tuttle, Henderson holds both undergraduate and master's degrees in Civil Engineering from Oklahoma State University and is a registered Professional Engineer. He has also served as an OSU Design Squad member, Tuttle City Councilman and served on the Engineering Development Council.
Henderson and his wife Aimee live in Weatherford.
