Oklahoma Fatherhood Summit to Celebrate and Empower Dads Nov. 8 in Broken Arrow

“Be You. Be Different. Be Dad.” Theme Encourages Engagement and Growth for Fathers

Oklahoma City, Okla. — The Oklahoma Commission on Children and Youth and its community partners will host the 2025 Oklahoma Fatherhood Summit from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at Northeastern State University’s Broken Arrow campus, 3100 New Orleans St., Broken Arrow.

The summit, themed “Be You. Be Different. Be Dad: Embracing Fatherhood,” will celebrate and recognize the vital role fathers and father figures play in their children’s lives. The event will include presentations by Dr. George James, CEO, George Talks and Thomas Pfanner, director and founder of Dads Who Lead.

Attendees will participate in breakout sessions and workshops led by community leaders on topics such as effective parenting, family strengthening, mediation, and youth success. The event also will feature a resource fair connecting families with local programs and support services.

“This year’s theme, ‘Be You. Be Different. Be Dad,’ reminds us that there is no single way to lead, love, or parent,” said Marquess Dennis, chair of the Oklahoma Fatherhood Summit Planning Committee. “We want every father, father figure, and caregiver to know that who they are and how they show up makes a powerful difference in the lives of children across Oklahoma.”

The Fatherhood Summit aims to increase awareness of community resources, encourage engagement between fathers and their families, and build partnerships that amplify fathers’ voices across Oklahoma.

Admission is free, but registration is required. Parents, caregivers, service providers, and community members are encouraged to register early to secure their place.
