Gov. Stitt Appoints Hannah Whipp to Oklahoma Commission on Children and Youth
Gov. Kevin Stitt has appointed Hannah G. Whipp to serve as a commissioner on the Oklahoma Commission on Children and Youth. Whipp represents metropolitan juvenile bureaus on the Commission. The appointment was officially filed on Mar. 12, 2025.
Whipp currently serves as director of the Oklahoma County Juvenile Bureau, a position she has held since Sept. 21, 2022. Her career with the bureau began in 2013, and over the past decade, she has advanced through key roles in detention, probation, internal affairs, and human resources. She was named human resources manager in 2017 and held that position until she was appointed director.
With a career built in public service, Whipp brings practical experience and operational knowledge to the Commission. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Southern Nazarene University and a Master of Business Administration in 2015. She also holds a Senior Certified Professional credential from the Society for Human Resource Management.
Whipp said she looks forward to contributing to the state’s efforts to improve services for children and youth in her new role.
“It’s a privilege to be appointed to the Oklahoma Commission on Children and Youth,” Whipp said. “Throughout my time in juvenile justice, I’ve seen the impact of strong, consistent support systems. I’m committed to working with fellow commissioners to strengthen the work being done on behalf of children across Oklahoma.”
Whipp succeeds Brenda Myers in the position.
