Overview:

This in-person training session, located in Midwest City, OK, offers professionals working with youth a comprehensive framework for negotiation principles. Participants will gain essential skills in navigating high-stakes and routine interactions with young individuals. Led by Zana Williams, attorney and CEO of Mindful Resolutions, the training focuses on self-awareness, strategic information gathering, and fostering win-win scenarios. Attendees will also learn motivational interviewing techniques to guide youth in conflict resolution without exerting excessive control.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs):

Pending approval for CLE, CLEET, and VWC.

Limited Availability:

This exclusive event is limited to 50 students. Registration does not guarantee acceptance. Applicants will be notified of acceptance by June 12, 2024, following review by the Oklahoma Commission on Children and Youth (OCCY). Full-day attendance is mandatory, and proof of work schedule or time-off request is required for approval.

Funding:

Sponsored by the Oklahoma Commission on Children and Youth, this event is funded either fully or partially through a grant from the Oklahoma Advisory Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect, administered by Oklahoma Human Services. No tuition fees apply.

About Zana Williams and Mindful Resolutions:

Zana Williams, with over 15 years of experience working with foster and court-involved youth, founded Mindful Resolutions. This educational training platform utilizes negotiation, mediation, and restorative justice practices to teach mindful communication, de-escalation, and life skills to at-risk youth and adults working with youth. Zana's expertise has been recognized internationally, including her role as keynote speaker and youth mentor for the US Embassy in Lesotho, Africa.
