Join Jimmy Widdifield, Jr., LPC, Project Director at the National Children's Advocacy Center, for an insightful workshop on understanding and addressing problematic sexual behavior in youth. The event titled, "Myths versus Facts about Children and Teens with Problematic Sexual Behavior" will be hosted at Rose State College in Midwest City, Oklahoma, on May 16, 2024, from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM.  The workshop offers professionals an opportunity to gain insights into youth sexual behaviors.

Attendees will delve into recognizing the spectrum of sexual behaviors exhibited by children and teens, from typical developmental stages to concerning behaviors. With a focus on equipping professionals with tools to discern normative from problematic sexual behavior, the event aims to debunk common misconceptions and develop evidence-based responses for intervention and healing.

By fostering a collaborative environment among attendees, this workshop facilitates the sharing of expertise and experiences. Participants will explore the factors contributing to youth sexual behavior and learn strategies to address these issues within their respective fields.

Designed for prosecutors, law enforcement, mental health professionals, and more—all child abuse professionals—the workshop provides practical strategies to define problematic sexual behaviors, dispel persistent myths, and enhance professional responses. Additionally, the workshop offers a platform for networking and building professional relationships, fostering ongoing collaboration beyond the event. Attendees will leave with new insights, practical tools, and a strengthened network dedicated to improving outcomes for youth affected by problematic sexual behavior.
