The Best Practices for Child Sexual Abuse Prosecution training will be a two-part in-person training. The first half of the day will cover best practices for child sexual abuse prosecution. This training addresses the specialized nature of child abuse cases through an MDT. Topics include the importance of hearsay and other crime evidence, the use of pretrial motions, preparing a child for courtroom testimony, sentencing considerations, and more. The second half of the day will cover using physical and digital evidence to corroborate complex cases. This presentation explores the way police and prosecutors can look beyond those two witnesses and identify ways to present compelling, corroborating evidence.
