  • July 22-25, 2024 (7:45 am - 5:00 pm daily)
  • July 26, 2024 (7:45 am - 3:00 pm)

Overview:

The ChildFirst® Oklahoma: Interviewing Children & Preparing for Court training, will take place from July 22-26, 2024, in Oklahoma City. This in-person course is limited to 30 students. Registration does not guarantee acceptance; all applications will be reviewed by ChildFirst® Oklahoma faculty.

Preference for participation will be given to applicants who apply as part of a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), including Prosecutor’s Offices, Child Protective Services, law enforcement, mental health professionals, forensic interviewers, victim/family advocates, and Children’s Advocacy Center leadership. Individual applications will also be considered.

Applicants not actively providing forensic interviews on behalf of an MDT may be considered for auditing the training without participation in mock interview activities. Notifications regarding acceptance will be sent by July 10, 2024.

Participants are required to attend each day in its entirety. The training venue details will be provided upon acceptance.training, sponsored by the Oklahoma Commission on Children and Youth in collaboration with Oklahoma Interviewing Services, Inc., and Zero Abuse Project, will take place from July 22-26, 2024, in Oklahoma City. Continuing Education Units: Up to approximately 34.00 CEUs are available for Oklahoma law enforcement, attorneys, licensed social workers, and licensed mental health providers.

The event is sponsored by the Oklahoma Commission on Children and Youth in collaboration with Oklahoma Interviewing Services, Inc., and Zero Abuse Project. This event is funded through a grant from the Oklahoma Advisory Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect via the Children’s Justice Act program administered by Oklahoma Human Services. There is no tuition fee; however, participants are responsible for their travel arrangements.
