In February 2013, Comanche County was one of the first in the United States to have its health department nationally accredited by the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB).
To become accredited, health departments must show they meet or exceed a set of standards by going through a rigorous, peer-reviewed assessment process. Accreditation has proven that county partnerships will continue to evolve, improve and advance, thereby becoming increasingly effective at improving the health of the residents of Comanche County.
PHAB is supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and aims to advance and transform public health practice by championing performance improvement, evidence-based action and innovation. View more information about the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB).
