How to File a Complaint

Complaints come to this Board from several sources including the consumer public, governmental building departments, other state boards and agencies, our licensees, and even through newspapers or other publications.

If you are considering filing a complaint, please complete the attached Complaint Form and include with your complaint as much factual evidence as possible; including copies of plans, plats, pictures, maps, documents, contracts and the names, addresses and phone numbers of potential witnesses. Most documents received by the Board are public record and subject to Oklahoma’s Open Records Act.

Anonymous complaints may be brought to the Board and will be processed; however, without a contact person to explain the details of the complaint or provide information or names of other witnesses, it can be difficult to obtain the necessary information needed to thoroughly investigate the allegation of wrongdoing.

The Enforcement Committee policy requires that if any parties involved in the complaint are anticipating litigation or litigation is pending, including appeals, the complaint will be investigated after the legal action is resolved unless the immediate failure to investigate would adversely impact public health, safety, or welfare.

Complaints can be mailed or delivered to:

220 N.E. 28th Street, Room 120
