I-44/Turner Turnpike narrows between Depew and Bristow Wednesday night

Tuesday, June 02, 2026

An asphalt pavement project will begin Wednesday, June 3, on I-44/Turner Turnpike between 9 miles east of Stroud at 465th West Ave. (mm 189) near Depew and just east of SH-48 (mm 197) near Bristow. Work on this project will be completed in 2-mile stretches narrowing eastbound Turner Turnpike to two lanes from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday and continuing nightly through summer 2026.

There will be three ramp closures at varying times throughout the project for repaving starting with the eastbound W. 96th St./Hilton Road (mm 217A) off-ramp near Sapulpa from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday. Other ramp closures are expected later in the project at eastbound and westbound I-44/Turner Turnpike to SH-66 east of Bristow.

Motorists are advised to use caution in the area and expect shifts in traffic configuration throughout the project.

The $7.8 million asphalt pavement project was awarded by the OTA Board in February to T.J. Campbell Construction Company. This capital plan project to extend the life of the pavement is estimated to be completed by late summer 2026
