I-44/H.E. Bailey narrows intermittently north of Lawton to northeast of Fletcher in Comanche County

Northbound and southbound I-44/H.E. Bailey Turnpike is narrowed to one lane in each direction between N.E. 180th St. (mm 62) and near US-277 to Fletcher in Comanche County for a shoulder rehabilitation and guardrail reconstruction project through spring 2025.

The overall project extends between just north of SH-49 at mm 46 and N.E. 180th St. (mm 62) northeast of Fletcher. Crews will work in 2-mile sections throughout the project area and as each 2-mile section is completed, they will move to another section and begin work. Ramps are expected to remain open for the duration of the project.

The $8.5 million contract was awarded in February by the OTA Board to Overland Corporation. Work is expected to be completed by early summer 2025, weather permitting.
