Illegally over-height vehicle strikes, damages county bridge above I-44/Will Rogers Turnpike; N.E. Sawyer Rd. bridge closed for repairs
Due to an illegally over-height commercial motor vehicle striking a county bridge above the I-44/Will Rogers Turnpike this afternoon, crews have closed the N.E. Sawyer Rd./County Rd. S. 4220 bridge between E. 460 and E. 470 Rds. east of Claremore in Rogers County. The vehicle damaged at least one bridge beam above eastbound Will Rogers Turnpike. Crews have determined it is necessary to close the county bridge until repairs can be made, while traffic remains open underneath on the turnpike. OTA is working with county officials and will provide updates as they become available.
SH-364/Creek Turnpike shifts, narrows at Gannett Rd. in Broken Arrow over Haikey Creek Wednesday morning
Westbound SH-364/Creek Turnpike will be narrowed to two lanes between S. Gannett Rd. and E. 111th, (mm 14 -15) in Broken Arrow while eastbound SH-364/Creek Turnpike will be shifted to the westbound bridge and narrowed to one lane starting at 9 a.m. Wednesday as part of the Haikey Creek bridge rehabilitation project. All ramps are expected to remain open during this time. Motorists should expect delays in the area through summer 2027.
SH-364/Creek Turnpike narrows near Sheridan Ave. Thursday
Eastbound SH-364/Creek Turnpike will be narrowed to one lane between Sheridan Ave. and Memorial Drive (mm 11-12) from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday for lighting repairs.
I-44/Turner Turnpike narrows between Luther and Wellston through Saturday
The following locations along the I-44/Turner Turnpike between Luther and Wellston will be narrowed to one lane for ongoing construction survey work:
- Eastbound I-44/Turner Turnpike shoulders will be closed between mile markers 151 - 154 near Luther from 7 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday and again from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday.
- Westbound I-44/Turner Turnpike shoulder will be closed at mm 155 near Wellston from 7 p.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday and again from 8 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday.
I-44/Turner Turnpike shoulder closed west of Wellston at mm 154 through summer 2026
Eastbound and westbound I-44/Turner Turnpike shoulders are closed on the bridge over County Rd. NS3310 about 1-mile west of SH-102 in Lincoln County as part of a bridge widening project. Motorists are advised to use caution in the area as construction is ongoing.
SH-375/Indian Nation Turnpike narrows near Blanco through Saturday
Southbound SH-375/Indian Nation Turnpike will be intermittently narrowed to one lane over SH-63 near Blanco (mm 55) through Saturday for bridge repairs.
US-412/Cherokee Turnpike narrows west of Kansas, Okla., Wednesday
Westbound US-412/Cherokee Turnpike will be narrowed to one lane at mm 27 just west of US-59/SH-10 at the Kansas, Okla., on-ramp from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday for pavement repairs.
