I-44/H.E. Bailey Turnpike narrows near Fletcher Tuesday through early fall

Northbound and southbound I-44/H.E. Bailey Turnpike will be narrowed to one lane in each direction from N.E. 180th St. (mm 62) near Fletcher to mm 78 near Pikes Peak Rd., south of Chickasha in Grady County, from 7 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, through early fall for shoulder pavement and guardrail improvements.

There will always be one lane open in each direction with a reduced speed of 65 mph. The ramps will not be affected with this closure.

This $9.2 million project was awarded in March to Haskell Lemon Construction Co. Work is expected to be completed by early fall 2024, weather permitting.
