OTA names T.J. Dill as new deputy director

T.J. Dill has been named as the Deputy Director of the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority. Dill most recently served as Chief Engineer since April 2023 overseeing engineering, construction, maintenance, right-of-way, and utilities along Oklahoma turnpikes. In his new role, he will continue those responsibilities as well as adding new ones in the areas of human resources and customer service.

A native Oklahoman, Dill earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering at Oklahoma State University in 2011. While attending school he worked part time for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation as a drafting technician from 2009 to 2011. Upon graduation, he began working full time for the Department of Transportation as an Engineer in Training. In 2013, Dill become the Resident Engineer in Enid and later in 2015 the Resident Engineer in Yukon. During this time frame Dill worked on several projects including the I-40 Crosstown reconstruction and led the team overseeing the emergency rehabilitation of the Belle Isle Bridge in Oklahoma City. In 2017, Dill was named the Assistant District Engineer for District 4 overseeing maintenance and construction activities in the Oklahoma City metro area.

Before joining OTA, Dill worked from 2018 to 2020 in the private sector as the Regional Director for a civil engineering consultant firm. He joined OTA in 2020 as the Director of Construction overseeing the final phases of opening the Kickapoo Turnpike and closing out the remaining Driving Forward program.

Since 2016, Dill has served various terms as a member of the Highway Construction Materials Technician Certification Board. Dill is originally from El Reno, where he currently lives with his wife and three children.
