H.E. Bailey Turnpike intermittently narrows between Fort Sill and Fletcher starting July 17

Eastbound and westbound I-44/H.E. Bailey (runs north and south) will have intermittent lane closures in each direction between SH-49 (mm 45) just north of Fort Sill and Whitefield Rd. (mm 62) east of Fletcher starting at 7 a.m. Monday through spring 2024 for a significant pavement rehabilitation project.

The project includes a dowel bar retrofit to reinforce the concrete pavement in several sections and diamond grinding to smooth the pavement surface. Closures will be no more than 6 miles at a time in either direction and work will occur at night and in daytime. This will be a moving operation so closures will occur intermittently throughout the work zone. Motorists are advised to watch for workers in the area.

The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority Board awarded the $10 million contract to Interstate Improvements.
