OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Jan. 11, 2017) – The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA) will close the northbound lanes of the Muskogee Turnpike at the Creek Turnpike Interchange beginning at 9 p.m. Wednesday night for emergency repairs.
The closure will begin at 9 p.m. tonight and the roadway should reopen by 5 a.m. Thursday morning.
The repairs are due to the shoulder failing along the northern sections of the Muskogee Turnpike where it is currently under construction as crews replace the first nine miles as part of the Driving Forward initiative. The repairs are needed in anticipation of winter weather this weekend across the state.
Motorists can expect to exit the Muskogee Turnpike northbound at the Creek Turnpike and head southbound on the Creek Turnpike to the State Highway 51 exit. From there, motorists can take SH 51 northbound into Tulsa. A map of the detour route is enclosed.
