New State Highway 9 Toll Plaza to open on Indian Nation Turnpike

Monday, August 08, 2016

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Aug. 8, 2016) – The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA) will open the new State Highway 9 Toll Plaza on the Indian Nation Turnpike at 6 a.m. Tuesday, August 9.

The new toll plaza replaces the original toll plaza underneath the State Highway 9 bridge. As part of the construction project, new ramps were also constructed for those exiting and entering from State Highway 9.

“This new plaza increases the safety for the traveling public and allows for faster, safer travel through the Pikepass lanes,” said Tim Gatz, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority. “The new plaza also separates the cash customers from the high speed Pikepass lanes, increasing safety for those needing to stop and pay cash.”

Motorists will need to stay alert in the area around the new toll plaza as construction crews open and close lanes throughout the day on Aug. 9 to allow crews to close down the old plaza and begin the removal of old toll booths and cash lanes.
