Wednesday, October 29, 2014

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (October 29, 2014) — Oklahoma County Commissioner Willa Johnson will kickoff construction of phase two of the Luther/Jones Interchange on the Turner Turnpike Friday, October 31, 2014 at 2 p.m.

The ground breaking will take place at the Luther/Jones exit with dignitaries from Oklahoma County, OTA, ODOT and state legislatures joining Ms. Johnson in kicking off the construction project.

The project will add the eastbound on ramp and westbound exit ramp to the already existing ramps at Hogback Road. In addition, the project will include rebuilding the existing bridge that currently is 14’-8” and will raise the new bridge to 18’-0.”

Manhattan Road and Bridge was awarded the $10,919,667.77 contract. Oklahoma County and the Oklahoma Department of Transportation have teamed with OTA on this project to complete the interchange at Hogback Road. Construction is expected to take approximately 14 months.

Motorists should expect delays in this area, both on the Turner Turnpike and on Route 66 over the turnpike. The existing bridge will remain open during construction, but travel delays are expected.
