Coweta Toll Plaza Traffic to be Slowed for Upgrade to PIKEPASS

Wednesday, April 24, 2013

OKLAHOMA CITY—Motorists who routinely travel using Pikepass through the Coweta Toll Plaza on the Muskogee Turnpike can expect delays due to construction beginning Monday, April 29, 2013.

Construction crews will have the northbound Pikepass lane closed beginning Monday as upgrades to the lane are made.

Pikepass customers will need to utilize the attended lanes through the toll plaza during construction. Customers will be able to use those lanes using their Pikepass, but traffic will be slowed through those lanes.

Motorists should be alert to all traffic signs and warning signs around the toll plaza and follow those signs while entering the construction zone. It’s also encouraged all motorists should refrain from using cell phones while traveling through the toll plaza.

Crews will spend the next month adding upgrades to the Pikepass lanes to better accommodate our customers. After the northbound Pikepass lane is completed, construction crews will then begin work on the southbound Pikepass lane.

The Coweta Toll Plaza is located at approximately mile marker 13 on the Muskogee Turnpike. All work is scheduled to be completed by June 4.
