The NEWSLINE® service reads newspapers over the telephone to Oklahomans who are unable to read standard print due to blindness, visual impairment, a learning disability or the physical inability to hold or turn the pages of printed material.
The service provides newspaper text in synthesized speech. People with visual disabilities can speed up the reading pace, skip articles and sections, or reread articles using the phone's keypad. It is available 24 hours a day and is entirely free to eligible individuals.
The national NEWSLINE® was created by the National Federation of the Blind. It is funded in Oklahoma by Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

How to Apply
Step 1: Register by calling the National Federation of the Blind toll-free at 1 (866) 504-7300 to request an application. You may also download an application or fill out the online application to register.
Step 2: After your registration is processed, you will receive a letter. It will contain your activation codes and instructions on how to begin reading the newspaper with NFB-NEWSLINE®.
Eligibility
Anyone who cannot read printed newspapers due to vision loss, dyslexia, or a physical disability is eligible to receive NFB-NEWSLINE®.
What to Bring
There is no face-to-face meeting and nothing to bring.
