Each year First Lady Sarah Stitt holds a back-to-school event in Oklahoma City and Tulsa where foster and adoptive families are invited for food, resources, give-a-ways and fun.

Mandi Mays, Community Coordinator with Oklahoma Human Services, supports this event each year alongside the First Lady’s office. The 2024 event was an incredible demonstration of the community’s support of foster families with 22 organizations participating at the Oklahoma City event and 18 participating in Tulsa.

The First Lady graciously hosts the Oklahoma City event at the Governor’s mansion. In Tulsa, Woodlake Church has hosted the event for three consecutive years where they have provided not only their beautiful venue, but also volunteers who helped gather more than 200 backpacks and supplies.
