Subject: 2021 Assisted Living Rental Unit and Board Rates

Date: November 6, 2020

The Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) rates have changed affecting the ADvantage Member maximum rental unit and board rates, effective January 1, 2021. If a Member is paying a different rate from those listed, they may continue to be charged at the existing rate until the next contract renewal period for the Member; otherwise ADvantage Member Maximum Rental Unit and Board Rates are as follows:

One Occupant – Rental unit with one bedroom or studio, kitchenette, one bath

$357.50 = Board rate for single occupancy

$357.50 = Rental Unit rate for single occupancy

$715.00 = maximum total rental unit and board for one ADvantage Member (90% of SSI Federal Benefit Rate)

Two Occupants – Rental unit with two bedrooms, living area with kitchenette, one bath

Each ADvantage Member will be responsible for one full board (50% of rental unit and board = $357.50) and 80% of a full rental unit rate, ($286.00). [For two persons in a 2-bedroom unit, the maximum rental unit rate total is set at 160% of the maximum for a single occupancy unit.]

$357.50 = Board for the ADvantage Member

$286.00 = 80% of single occupancy rental unit rate

$643.50 = maximum rental unit and board for each Member

$1287.00 = total rental unit and board maximum cost for two ADvantage Members sharing a two bedroom unit.

Two Occupants – Rental unit with one bedroom, living area with kitchenette, one bath

Each ADvantage Couple with an eligible spouse.

$715.00 = Board for the eligible couple

$476.00 = Rental unit rate for the eligible couple

$1191.00 = maximum rental unit and board for an eligible ADvantage couple.
